Interpret Enhanced Match %
Use chunk evidence to understand how much of a non-matching file still agrees with the original reference.
Understand a whole-file failure
A FAIL means the current whole-file SHA-256 or expected size differs. That tells you the file is not identical, but not how localised the difference is.
Use compatible enhanced evidence
When a NourForge enhanced sidecar or portable dataset provides complete chunk records, Checker hashes the corresponding file regions after a whole-file mismatch.
Read Match % as evidence
Match % is the proportion of reference chunks whose SHA-256 still matches. Expected and actual chunk counts are shown so truncated, extended or structurally changed files remain visible.
Investigate, do not assume
A high percentage can support targeted investigation or deciding which copy deserves further recovery work. It does not certify playability, structural validity or recoverability.
Preserve reports
Save Results, Verification Summary and Activity Log when the evidence informs preservation, replacement or recovery decisions.
