NOURFORGE LEGAL
Privacy policy
1. Scope and approach
This policy applies to the NourForge website, customer support, purchases and licensing services. It does not replace the privacy terms of third-party stores or services you choose to use.
Australian privacy obligations depend on an organisation’s circumstances. NourForge aims to handle personal information consistently with the transparency and data-minimisation principles described here whether or not the Privacy Act 1988 applies to a particular activity.
2. Information we may collect
- Purchases and licensing: name, email, country or region, product and transaction references, licence and activation records, and device-derived identifiers needed to recognise activated devices.
- Support and feedback: your email address, correspondence, product/version details, diagnostic information and attachments you choose to provide.
- Website operation: security, error and server-log information such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time.
- Analytics: privacy-limited website usage events only when production analytics is enabled. URL query strings and fragments are excluded, advertising personalisation is disabled, and analytics is not loaded on local or staging hosts.
NourForge does not seek sensitive information. Please do not send private archive contents, licence keys, payment-card details or unrelated personal information in support requests.
3. How information is collected and held
We collect information directly when you purchase, activate, email support or submit feedback, and automatically when website or licensing systems receive a request. Records may be held in NourForge-controlled systems and in contracted hosting, payment, email and licensing services. We do not buy marketing lists.
4. Why we use information
We use information to provide downloads and purchases, deliver receipts, issue and manage licences, recognise activated devices, prevent misuse, respond to support and feedback, maintain security, improve products, keep business records and meet legal obligations.
If required purchase or licensing information is not provided, we may be unable to complete checkout, issue a licence or resolve an activation. Support may be limited if the information needed to investigate a request is withheld.
5. Disclosure and service providers
Information may be processed by service providers needed for payment processing, website hosting, email, security logging and licensing. Stripe processes checkout and payment information under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect legal rights or investigate fraud or security incidents. NourForge does not sell personal information.
6. Overseas processing
Some service providers may process or store information outside Australia. Provider locations can change. We assess providers, use appropriate contractual and security controls where reasonably available, and limit shared information to what is needed for the service.
7. Cookies, local storage and analytics
The website may use essential browser storage needed for operation. If production analytics is enabled, the site loads the configured analytics service only on the allowlisted production host. Analytics is configured without advertising personalisation, and NourForge does not intentionally place licence keys, email addresses, query strings or URL fragments in analytics events.
8. Direct marketing
NourForge does not currently operate a marketing mailing list. If that changes, messages will identify the sender and provide a practical unsubscribe method. Service, security, purchase and licence communications are not marketing where they are reasonably necessary to provide the requested product or service.
9. Children
Purchases and licence accounts are intended for people able to enter a contract or for an authorised parent, guardian, school or organisation. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authority, contact support so it can be reviewed.
10. Retention, deletion and security
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, legal and accounting obligations, fraud prevention, dispute handling and security. Retention periods differ by record type. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access control and minimisation, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
You may request deletion. Some records may need to be retained to complete a transaction, maintain a licence, protect security, resolve a dispute or comply with law. Deleting necessary licensing records may affect the ability to recognise prior activations.
11. Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct personal information held about you by emailing support. Describe the record and correction requested. We may need to verify your identity and will explain if access or correction cannot be provided.
12. Privacy complaints
Send a clear description of the concern to support. NourForge will acknowledge and investigate it within a reasonable time and may ask for information needed to identify the relevant record. If a concern is not resolved, information about privacy complaints is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
13. Changes to this policy
The effective and last-updated dates identify the current version. This policy will be reviewed when information practices, products, providers or applicable obligations materially change.
14. Online game services
When online leaderboards are switched on for a platform, a NourForge game creates an anonymous player identity: a service-generated identifier and credential kept on the device in protected storage. No name, email address or account is required. The game then sends run records (score, level, run statistics, edition, platform, game version and timestamps) and receives a service-generated display name. IP address and request metadata are logged for security and rate limiting. These records are retained only as long as leaderboard integrity, audit and dispute handling reasonably require; removal can be requested through support, subject to integrity records. While online leaderboards are switched off nothing is sent. The Children section above applies: no account is created.
