Use exact SHA-256 evidence to find a lost file by hash or pair unresolved manifest entries with renamed or moved archive files.

Include Archive Subfolders determines whether nested files are searched. Multi-disc / Partial can allow unrelated non-matching files without treating them as extra for this search.
One exact match resolves the SHA-256 to a relative path. Multiple exact matches are reported as a warning because identical content may exist at more than one path. Read errors remain visible.
With a manifest loaded, Orphan Resolution first uses normal path and filename pairing, then hashes unmatched archive files and compares them with unresolved manifest SHA-256 values.
A unique exact match is reported as Hash resolved. Multiple candidates with the same expected SHA-256 are all reported and require human review; Checker does not pretend the original path is known.
Legacy closest-name fallback is name-similarity matching for historical data and surfaces warnings. Exact SHA-256 orphan resolution is stronger evidence and should not be confused with a filename guess.
