Metadata editing is designed to avoid media re-encoding, but any batch write can be interrupted by storage, permission or hardware problems. Keep a separate backup.

Apply changes with feedback and use Undo Last Apply
Apply a reviewed plan, monitor per-file outcomes and understand the limits of the captured rollback transaction.
Confirm the current preview
Check selected files, planned Changes and Warning columns immediately before Apply.
Apply
Confirm the operation. MKV Batch Manager captures original editable metadata, applies the requested changes and reports progress for each file.
Review verification feedback
Successful rows indicate that the applied state and rollback capture were verified. Failed or partial outcomes remain visible in the status and Activity Log.
Understand Undo Last Apply
Undo is tied to the most recent captured Apply transaction. It attempts a verified rollback of captured editable metadata and can retain unresolved entries if stopped safely between files.
Do not overwrite the evidence
Starting later work can change which transaction is considered the last apply. Export logs and resolve an unwanted result promptly.
Escalate cautiously
If Apply or Undo reports failure, preserve the files and logs, avoid repeated writes, restore from backup when appropriate and contact support with non-sensitive diagnostics.
